
95 tonnes of dates have been sold in the 6th Local Dates Festival so far, the authorities informed.
The festival, which was organized by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, started on July 15 at Souq Waqif with the participation of 82 farms.
It aims at improving the marketing of locally produced dates and encouraging farmers to improve the quality of their production.
The festival showcases a wide variety of local fresh dates such as Khalas, Shishi, Khenizi and Barhi.
It will continue until July 30Â and officials have already revealed that there is no chance for an extension.
