A food law violation led to the seizure of 5,500 kg of frozen meat in Qatar

Doha: For violating Law no. 8 of 1990 regarding the regulation of human food control, around 5500 kilograms of frozen meat was seized by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment of Qatar.

During the examination, it was revealed that the seized meat was converted into frozen meat and extended its validity period for a whole year in order to avoid spoilage, which is in violation of food control in Qatar.

2500 kg of meat was seized, which was stored in the company’s logistics warehouses and another 3000 kg of meat was seized from the premises.

A violation report was issued and the seized meat will be set for destruction. The Ministry of Municipality and Environment further called upon food outlets and the owners to abide by the laws.
