AFG College is all set to welcome the reopening

AFG College and the University of Aberdeen have spent the summer preparing for students to return to campus under the government’s current Covid-19 instructions. This semester, a new undergraduate programme will be added to the four already well-established undergraduate programmes on campus, making five in total.

HE Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and Higher Education, has authorised the new programme. It will begin this month and is AFG’s fifth undergraduate degree offered since the College began in 2017.

MA Business Management and Legal Studies offer students a solid grounding in business and management while also introducing them to the legal framework within which all businesses operate – a move that continues the college’s thoughtful expansion by providing much-needed multi-disciplinary offerings.

Success in the new programme will provide students with the analytical and intellectual abilities needed to get a good start in international business, and it will open the door to a variety of career opportunities. AFG College’s industry linkage group works closely with prospective employers to identify future graduate opportunities.

“We are excited to be launching this new programme in September where students will benefit from developing their expertise in both business management and legal studies, preparing them for a diverse range of careers. Over four years students will develop an excellent grounding across the subject areas as we bring theory and practice to life for them. The AFG team are looking forward to working with and inspiring the next generation of leaders in business and law in Doha”. noted Dr Fiona Robson, AFG College Head of Discipline for Business and Management.

“I am very much looking forward to welcoming back returning students and those new students who have opted to join us in pursuing one of the programmes, that we offer here in Doha. As principal, I am conscious of our responsibilities in helping to shape future leaders and believe that the new courses will augment those already being offered. With the increasing demand for new programmes, we are constantly adapting and developing our offerings to help support HH Amir’s vision for a knowledge-based economy. The new Business Management & Legal Studies programme adopts an interdisciplinary approach which takes into consideration the demands placed on graduates by employers to develop a broader range of transferable skills, which students will benefit from when entering the workplace.” said AFG College Principal Brian Buckley.
