The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) has stated that Al Thumama Stadium is all set to host the HH the Amir Cup. On Friday, the 49th edition of HH the Amir Cup will take place at the Al Thumama Stadium. The final will also be the inaugural match of the stadium.
On Tuesday, the stadium was opened for a large gathering of local media officials. An exploration tour of the stadium was set by the SC for the media officials. The Stadium will also host some of the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 and FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches.
The stadium’s cooling and lighting systems are designed in a way that will ensure an ideal atmosphere throughout the year for the players as well as the fans. The stadium has a capacity to host 40,000.
Qatari and Gulf heritage is represented in the Al Thumama Stadium, according to al-Mawlawi, who described it as an architectural and sports masterpiece. “Through this inspection tour, we wanted to highlight all the construction and engineering details to media representatives a few days before its official inauguration,” he added.
