SpellForce 3 Reforced: Release postponed significantly

It can go that fast. After “SpellForce 3 Reforced” was announced with a date last August, the first postponement followed. As the publisher THQ Nordic and the developer Grimlore Games announced today, the title will not appear until March 8, 2022.

Only the console version of “SpellForce 3 Reforced” is affected by the shift. For owners of SpellForce 3 on the PC, the Reforced Edition will be activated on December 6, 2021 via a free update.

Numerous improvements

When compared to the original SpellForce 3, the Reforced Edition offers an improved campaign experience that includes:

  • Improved RTS mechanics and revised RTS faction design
  • Revised skill trees
  • Improved quests
  • Improved co-op mode
  • Improved distribution of prey
  • Improved balancing
  • Complete overhaul of the hub
  • Fixed all logic issues in the campaign and quests

In addition to these campaign features, the Reforced Edition will offer a visually and functionally improved user interface, full gamepad support and new content.

“SpellForce 3 Reforced” can be played from March 8, 2022 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S / X. The price is 39.99 euros.

In addition to the base game, the two expansions “Soul Harvest” and “Fallen God” will be made available on the consoles from March 8, 2022. They cost 19.99 euros each. Both expansions offer their own single player campaign, each with over 30 hours of game time, as well as new units and more. The Complete Edition already includes the additional content and costs 59.99 euros.

“Spellforce” was able to get quite decent ratings in 2017 as a PC version. The Metascore is based on 37 reviews at 73. The user score is positioned similarly. The announcement of the console version can be found here.
