Artist Ali Al Naama opens his first art exhibition at Katara

Doha: Yesterday at building no. 5 of Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), artist  Ali Al Naama opened an art exhibition. The theme of the exhibition is ‘They flew … So they wouldn’t be tethered to the ground’.

The Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library (QNL) H E Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari attended the inaugural event of the exhibition. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti General Manager of Cultural Village Foundation, Katara.

“First, I would like to thank Katara and Katara Art Center for all the support and cooperation, especially after the interruption of exhibitions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and I also thank all visitors,” Ali Al Namah said regarding his exhibition.

He also talked about the inspiration behind choosing this title, “My focus on the bird’s wing as an artistic term comes from the environment in which I grew up. A variety of materials were used and presented in a smooth and innovative way.

“I consider this exhibition the beginning of similar future ideas that I will present in the same style,” said Al Naama. The Artist welcomed everyone to visit the exhibition which has 14 paintings in total, each of different sizes and materials and sculpted with acrylic and aluminium. This is the first time for Al Naama in Katara with his personnel exhibition
