Doha: During the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, Corniche Street will be filled with interesting activities for visiting fans and residents. During the event, private vehicles will not be permitted on the street from November 26, 2021, to December 4, 2021.
The only transportation permitted during this time is public transport, and arrangements are being made for the smooth movement of fans.
For passengers travelling to their destinations during the closure period, the Doha Metro service and Karwa buses will be available as alternatives. There will be seven Doha Metro stations serving Corniche Street and more than 40 bus stops.
The Qatar International Food Festival will take place on Corniche Street as part of various shows. Al Bidda Park and Corniche Street will host the festival.
Festival dates are November 26, 2021, to December 4, 2021, on Corniche Street and November 26 to December 17, 2021, in Al Bidda Park. There will be 145 food stalls, 12 food trucks, hot air balloons, live music, fireworks, and a music festival that runs weekdays from 3 pm to 11 pm and weekends from 3 pm to 1 am.
Corniche will also feature eight interactive installations and a musical water show along with Qatar’s largest LED installation. A press conference was held by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 to announce information about the closure of the Doha Corniche and transportation plans. Â
From 6 am to 8:30 am; 12 pm to 3 pm; and 5 pm to 10 pm, heavy vehicles will not be permitted on the Doha Corniche Street in Doha. School buses and buses operated by public transit are exempted from this prohibition. It is not allowed for trucks to enter the streets near stadiums until 1 is to 5 am only.
