Florida authorities found belongings of Brian Laundrie, the missing fiancé of influencer Gabby Petito, in a Florida park, calling the Sarasota County coroner and a body detector dog.

More teams of first responders have also arrived on the scene at Carlton Reserve to help with the search.

Chris and Roberta Laundrie, the man’s parents, told authorities they intended to search for him at the park, a place he used to frequent, Steven Bertolino, the family’s attorney, was quoted as saying by CNN.

The search yielded the discovery of “some articles”, reported the lawyer, although without specifying how many or which objects were found.

The Pasco County Office said a body-sniffing dog and two observer dogs are also found at the scene, where a deeper search is being conducted.

Authorities have been searching for Laundrie for a month. Almost two years ago, Gabby Petito and Laundrie were traveling by road in the west of the country, until the man returned home alone in North Point, Florida, on September 1.

Ten days later, Pettito’s family reported the disappearance, while Laundrie initially refused to cooperate with the authorities, until he also disappeared.

The girl’s remains were discovered on September 19 in a Wyoming national forest; the medical examiner ruled that he died from strangulation.

Laundrie is considered a “person of interest” in the murder of his girlfriend. He is also wanted for having used another person’s debit card without authorization.
