Ben Zauzmer to be Mets assistant general manager Billy Eppler

The Mets promoted Ben Zauzmer who will now be the assistant to new general manager Billy Epler, ESPN’s Jon Heyman reported.

Zauzmer had been serving as director of the team’s analytics department, a position he had held for a year after previously being at the Dodgers’ front office.

Now he will be the right-hand man of new GM Billy Eppler, who comes from being GM of the Los Angeles Angels between the 2015 and 2020 seasons and will lead the Mets with a 4-year contract.
