Call of Duty Vanguard: is there cross play, co-op & split screen?

How does crossplay and co-op work in Call of Duty: Vanguard? Is it possible to play via split screen? In the following we answer the questions asked and tell you what is possible and what is not.

Is there crossplay in CoD: Vanguard?

Yes, there is crossplay between PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and Xbox One. So you can easily play with friends who are playing on another platform. Incidentally, crossplay is activated by default. So don’t be surprised if there are automatically PC players in your lobby on the Konstole. If you want to deactivate crossplay, proceed as follows:

Open the settings and switch to the “Account & Network” tab. At the top you can now Turn crossplay on or off.

If you deactivate crossplay, matchmaking could possibly take a little longer. But overall that shouldn’t be a problem, as CoD actually has a large community on every platform.

Under Account & Network you can exhibit Vanguard Crossplay in CoD.

Is there a co-op mode?

Yes and no! There is not a real co-op campaign. There is also no special mode that you can play in co-op with friends. However, if you look at it closely, the zombie mode can be viewed as a co-op mode, as you compete against the undead with other players / friends and want to achieve the same goal together. However, this only works online as there is no split screen in zombies. Which brings us to the next point …

What about split screen?

It depends on the mode. On the consoles (PS5, PS4, XBox One, Xbox Series X | S) you can play the multiplayer mode in split screen together. However, at the launch you will not be able to play the zombie mode, as already mentioned above, nor the campaign in split screen. If you are a PC player, this function is unfortunately not available at all.

If you want to add a second player and play in split screen, you can only do this in the main menu of the multiplayer. Once you have arrived here, proceed as follows:

Switch on a second controller and log in with the respective account. If you want to play online in split screen, the account must also have an active subscription to PS Plus or Xbox Live. If you register the second controller as a guest, the two of you can only compete against bots locally. If the second controller is switched on and logged in, A message appears in the upper right corner that player 2 can join the split screen. Press X / A (PS / Xbox) to add a player. If everything went well, a second operator appears in the picture and you can start any match. The screen is then split in two on the split screen.
