Chivas rejected an offer from European football for Uriel Antuna
Uriel Antuna was close to returning to football in Europe but Chivas de Guadalajara, his previous Liga MX team, rejected an offer for the midfielder from England’s second division Middlesbrough.
The offer was a loan for the Mexican national team, according to a note from ESPN Digital, it was 6 million euros (about 6.7 million dollars).
Instead of negotiating Antuna with the English club, the Guadalajara team decided to change him to Cruz Azul for the player Roberto Alvarado.
Middlesbrough’s intention to take over Antuna’s sports services occurred while the footballer was with the U23 national team at the Tokyo Olympics in August 2021.
