Commercial Bank in collaboration with GTA launch a direct payment service

Doha: In collaboration with the General Tax Authority (GTA), Commercial Bank, Qatar’s leading digital bank, has launched a direct payment service for its clients to pay their tax obligations directly from their accounts.

Through the Bank’s Corporate Internet Banking (CIB), all Commercial Bank customers have access to their tax bill online as well as a secure way to pay their tax bill.

As part of its continuous development of payment initiatives, Commercial Bank is keen to provide customers with the easiest, fastest, and most convenient means of initiating and processing payments. CIB (CB online portal for corporate clients) has integrated with the General Tax Authority to provide seamless online payment of tax invoices.

The current method for corporate clients to settle tax invoices is to initiate funds transfers to GTA’s account. Validating TINs and tax invoices is not supported by this process, which could pose reconciliation challenges.

“This service comes in alignment with Commercial Bank’s strategy to provide customers with the most innovative digital banking solutions that provide them with fast and seamless payment solutions and therefore enhance their exclusive banking experience,” said Raju Buddhiraju, EGM, Head of Wholesale Banking.

To allow integration with Commercial Bank’s systems, GTA recently signed an agreement. The seamless integration is the result of Commercial Bank’s coordination with GTA. Customers of CB on CIB can inquire about their GTA tax invoices and make the necessary payments online.

It will also provide GTA with updates on the status of payments in real-time. The GTA will automatically reconcile all payments made on CIB through this service. Customers of the bank can access the service, including those in the public and private sectors.
