Completion of rest and parking works for the Olympic Cycling Track on Al Khor Road
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has completed the works of rest areas and parking for the Olympic Cycling Track on Al Khor Road, which includes a garden and a number of facilities that serve cyclists.
The lounge is located at the beginning of the Olympic cycling track, near the golf signal, on a total area of about 36,800 square meters. It provides parking lots, booths for servicing and maintaining bicycles, a fitness area, and a mosque, as well as a green area of about 13,000 square metres.
Engineer Hassan Al Mujeba from the Highway Projects Department confirmed on this occasion that Ashghal has built a restroom that includes a garden and many other facilities that serve cyclists and park visitors, pointing out that the kiosks will provide services for the Olympic cycling track goers, which includes a shop for renting, maintaining and selling bicycles. .
The project includes 167 car parking spaces, 57 bicycle parking spaces, and a fitness area covered with a canopy that includes 15 devices. A mosque was built to accommodate about 150 worshipers, an imam room, and bathrooms for ablution and to serve visitors to the rest stop, in addition to planting about 13,000 square meters and 197 trees, with the provision of 5 commercial kiosks. Multi-use with the possibility of adding 10 more kiosks with an area of 24 square meters, in addition to establishing a shop for the maintenance and rental of bicycles with an area of 60 square metres, in addition to constructing a maintenance building for the Public Works Authority, including an office for the Qatari Bicycle Club.
It is noteworthy that the Olympic track got a Guinness World Record for being the longest continuous cycle track with a length of about 33 km.
