Doha will host the LDC5 as Qatar and the UN have signed an agreement
New York: The 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) will take place in Doha as the State of Qatar and the United Nations have signed an agreement on hosting the event. The event will begin in Doha on January 23 and will end on 27, 2022.
On behalf of the State of Qatar, H E Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the UN signed the agreement. On behalf of the UN, Courtenay Rattray, Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States signed the agreement. The signing ceremony took place in New York at the headquarters of Qatar’s UN mission.
