The Doha Metro became the most preferred mode of transport during the temporary closure of Corniche Street. During the closure, over 100,000 passengers used the metro for transportation.

In a tweet, Doha Metro revealed the tool amount of passengers who used the services during the temporary closure. According to the tweet, a total of 106,349 passengers used the metro services in the seven stations located in the Corniche area. They also thanked the commuters for choosing their service.
From August 6, in order to facilitate the completion of pending construction works, Corniche Street was closed temporarily. Both the sides of the road were opened to traffic today (August 10) early morning.
