Education Ministry honours volunteers from Al Rowad for their exceptional work

47 volunteers from Al Rowad were recognised for their efforts in monitoring the precautionary and preventive measures taken by kindergartens and private schools to curb COVID-19 during the last academic year by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Private Education Affairs Sector.

In a ceremony conducted at the Scout and Guide Association of Qatar’s headquarters, they were honoured. Jassim Mohammed Al Hardan, Commissioner General of Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, Dr Yousef Ali Al Kadhim, and Rashid Ahmed Al Amiri, Director of Private Schools Affairs Department, attended the ceremony.

Appreciation certificates and gratitude were handed to the volunteers by Omar Abdel Aziz Al Naama, Assistant Undersecretary of Education and Higher Education for Private Education. For its part in fulfilling its mandate, Al Rowad for Voluntary Work has been awarded the Ministry’s shield and certificate of appreciation, as well as a follow-up on the duties they were assigned.

More than 325 kindergartens and private schools were monitored and preventive steps were followed by volunteers, according to Rashid Ahmed Al Ameri, director of the Private Schools Affairs.

Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama, the Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs, spoke at the occasion and praised the volunteers’ efforts in aiding the Private Schools Department in following the precautionary and preventative measures in private schools and kindergartens to curb the pandemic.

“The Ministry found that the volunteers excelled in accomplishing the required tasks. I felt great sincerity and dedication in following up every small and big thing, and they valued their concern for the safety of our students in schools,” said Al Naama.

Dr Youssef Ali Al Kadhim, chairman of Al Rowad for Voluntary Work, complimented the efforts of the volunteers and employees of the Private Schools Affairs Department in monitoring the execution of precautionary and preventative measures by private educational institutions against Covid-19.

He said that the good reputation of Al Rowad volunteers as well as the passion they have for serving others as volunteers have increased their demand among various institutions and authorities. He also added that they will now participate in the constituency headquarters for the Shura Council elections.
