First update available and campaign in technology comparison

The newest “Call of Duty” offshoot has received its first update. In addition to some multiplayer adjustments, the campaign and the zombie mode were also tweaked a bit. A technical comparison video has also arrived, in which the campaign on the PS5 and the PS4 (Pro) is compared with one another.

Call of Duty Vanguard: First update available and a technical comparison of the campaign

“Call of Duty: Vanguard” has been on the gaming market for almost a week. Now Sledgehammer Games has released the first update, which is mainly dedicated to multiplayer. We have prepared all relevant changes below.

  • Users who were unable to redeem codes for incentives such as XP bonuses, business cards and emblems can now redeem rewards.
  • The battle shield now protects players’ backs when stowed.
  • Fixed invisible player models during MVP voting and when playing the game.
  • Fixed a bug that affected Constanze’s skin progression.
  • Operator Challenges will no longer reset once completed.
  • Inaccurate unlock requirements for weapon challenges are now displayed correctly.
  • The 1911 pistol now rises above level 50.
  • Weapons can now be unlocked after level 66 in Loadout / Gunsmith.

Adjustments have also been made in the campaign and zombie mode. Loading a save now always brings you to your last checkpoint and not to the beginning of the mission as before.

Zombie Hunters can now properly complete all Pistol Challenges. In addition, the number of completed zombies is displayed correctly, while the self-resuscitation indicator shows the progress correctly. After a revival, it will no longer happen that you cannot use your field upgrade. Other small bugs are also a thing of the past after the update.

Almost 4 seconds of loading time on the PS5

You can find out how well the single player campaign is performing on the PlayStation consoles in the comparison video below. Once again, the loading times stand out, which are around 20 times faster on the PS5 than on the PS4 (Pro). The modern Sony console takes exactly 3.70 seconds to load a mission!

Otherwise, the PS5 has a higher range of vision, better lighting, higher vegetation and more realistic textures. The shadows also look a little higher quality. Incidentally, the 120hz mode is not suitable for the campaign, as the refresh rate cannot be maintained.
