Google Pixel 6 Pro: The rip-off is in full swing
When something new comes onto the market and for whatever reason is not widely available, people start asking for more money for it than the manufacturers actually allow for it. We have been seeing this for months with the PlayStation 5 and now also with the new Google smartphone Pixel 6 Pro.
Google Pixel 6 Pro on eBay at inflated prices
Update from November 5th, 2021: The situation around the Google Pixel 6 Pro has not improved. The prices on eBay have fallen a bit. Instead of 1,200 euros, we are now leveling off at 1,000 to 1,100 euros. Still too much. Google needs to improve availability because the interest is huge.

If you want to buy a new game console, a graphics card or another device that is not simply in abundance in stock, you have to pay extra. The current situation with the shortage of chips means that coveted products simply cannot be produced in the quantities in which they are needed. That now also affects Google’s Pixel 6 Pro.
The Google Pixel 6 Pro has been officially available in Germany since October 28, 2021. But the truth is that the smartphone was completely sold out just a few minutes after its presentation on October 19, 2021. Since then, there has been no way of getting hold of the new top cell phone. You can go to Google in the Play Store just put them on the waiting list. It is absolutely not clear when one can strike again. Does it take days, weeks or months? Nobody knows.
Anyone who was able to get hold of a Google Pixel 6 Pro will be happy about their new mobile phone, which performed extremely well in the test, or sold it at a totally overpriced price on eBay. We took a look around. Instead of actually from Google, which is provided for 899 euros, is usually asked for 1,200 euros (look at eBay). The offer is very rare, which underlines the poor availability, so that the prices are extremely high.
Why aren’t there enough Google Pixel 6 Pros?
Two factors should come together:
On the one hand, of course Chip shortageso that Google can’t produce as many Pixel 6 Pros as one might have wished for. On the other hand, we can imagine that Google itself dated gigantic success of the Pixel 6 Pro was surprised. Production has already been increased significantly in advance. But that the interest was suddenly so great was probably not imagined in the best projections.
We wouldn’t recommend buying a Pixel 6 Pro for $ 1,200 on eBay. Google is currently getting pressure from all sides, so that production will certainly continue to move forward in order to get the most out of it.
Alternative: If you need a new contract anyway, you can of course take a look at providers such as Flymobile (check out Flymobile) or Logitel (check out Logitel). There you can order the Pixel 6 Pro with a contract and should get it in the coming days. The monthly prices are of course very high at the moment. They should decrease with better availability.
And maybe a Pixel 6 is enough for you. You can buy it in the Play Store for 649 euros (check it out in the Google Play Store). In the video above let’s introduce the smartphone to you in detail. It’s not quite as stylish as the Pixel 6 Pro, but it offers the same software features and the new Tensor processor as its big brother.
