Health authorities urge LIDOM to reduce stadium capacity by 50%
The season of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League has passed successfully, but the arrival in the country of the variant of COVID-19, Ómicron, could change the sanitary plans of the competition.
The increase in positive cases of COVID-19 in the Dominican Republic has caused the government’s Health Cabinet headed by the country’s Vice President and the Minister of Health, Daniel Rivera, to announce an epidemiological alert.
“We are recommending 50% of the capacity for LIDOM. I hope they achieve it,” Rivera said in statements collected by ESPN.
So far the Dominican baseball authorities have not spoken.
