
There are 1,065 cases entered in the various emergency departments at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) on the first day of Eid al-Adha.
Along with this, the trauma emergency department received 362 at Hamad General Hospital.
In the cases of children, various HMC paediatric departments received 703 cases on Eid day
“The number of cases received at the emergency department this Eid is almost 20% less than the same season last year,” Dr Abdelnasser al-Jazaeri revealed.
Dr. Al-Jazaeri, who is the senior consultant at Hamad General Hospital emergency department, explained the situations further.
According to him, among 68 patients entered through ambulance services, five cases happened because of road traffic accidents.
All those were with minor or moderate injuries and discharged the same day after treatment.
There came 16 cases of indigestion and complications mostly due to unhealthy consumption of food in holidays.
Except one, who was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit, all the others were discharged the same day.
Of the 703 children’s emergency cases, 369 are at Al Sadd Paediatric Emergency Center (PEC), 206 are at Al Gharrafa Al Rayyan, 48 at Al Daayen, and 80 at the Old Airport PEC.
Dr Mohamed al-Amri, director of Paediatric Emergency Department at HMC, said that it’s 40 percent less than last year’s record.
