In six months, Kahramaa tested 5,850 water samples for quality.

During the first half of this year, the Water Quality Laboratory of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) analysed 5,850 water samples across its supply network.

β€œAs part of its continuous work to provide the best services, the Kahramaa Water Quality Laboratory collected and analysed 3,047 water samples during the first quarter (Q1), and 2,803 water samples during the second quarter (Q2) of 2021, to ensure water safety and quality according to the highest local and international quality standards,” Kahramaa has tweeted.

From the source to the customer, the water quality laboratory follows a yearly plan established by the Director of Water Networks Affairs, for accurate monitoring of water quality, which includes all sources of water production, water pumps, distribution networks, and tankers.

On March 19, 2012, the laboratory got an international accreditation certificate (No 3265.01) from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) in the field of accreditation for laboratory competency in testing and calibration for the eighth year in a row.

The efforts made by the technical personnel played a major role in the accreditation of the Laboratory. The high-end technology also helped them to increase the quality of the laboratory providing more accurate results and high functioning of the system. A new Kahramaa Water Quality Monitoring Laboratory opened in Al Thumama in February this year, as part of the nation’s goal to assure a high-quality water supply.
