On Sunday, Lolwa al-Marri became the first Qatari woman to complete the Ironman event. Ironman triathlon involves swimming, cycling, and running contests, and she was taking part in the event in Hamburg.
For her accomplishment in finishing the event, which included swimming, cycling, and running with a time of 13 hours 27 minutes and 16 seconds the Qatar Women’s Sports Committee wishes champion al-Marri all the best in her career.

A new Qatari record was also made by Abdullah Shaheen al-Kaabi in the event, who covered the 225,800 km distance in just 10:28:25 hours.
As part of the World Triathlon Corporation’s long-distance triathlon series, the Ironman Triathlon consists of swimming 2.4 miles (3.86 km), cycling 112 miles (180.25 km), and running a marathon of 26.22 miles (42.20 km). Many people consider it one of the world’s toughest athletic events.
