The White House reported that The United States will reopen its borders by air and land for international passengers vaccinated as of November 8th.

The restrictions were imposed from the start of the pandemic in 2020; were in effect for approximately 19 months.

“The new US travel policy requiring vaccination for foreign travelers to the US will begin on November 8. This announcement and the date apply to both international air travel as well as land travel“, Said through a message on Twitter a spokesman for the White House, Kevin Muñoz.

Mexico also welcomed the measure, which had been previously announced, although its northern neighbor had not yet clarified the November date when its border would reopen.

This announcement implies the possibility that foreigners who want to make visits considered non-essential, may do so from the land border, as long as they have the complete vaccination schedule and the necessary immigration documentation.

As unvaccinated Americans, they will also be able to enter the country, provided they present a negative test taken the day before and undergo another later.
