Doha: The 3rd edition of the Qatar International Festival of Arts has been inaugurated by Professor Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, the General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara). The event is organised by Katara in collaboration with Maps International company.
More than 300 artists from 65 countries will participate in the event which is until October 28. Katara will always support all cultural and artistic initiatives that are consistent with its cultural mission based on building relations between cultures and nations, Professor Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti stressed.
The purpose of this festival is not only to exhibit art and creativity, but to provide Qatari and international artists with an opportunity to exchange experiences through their participation in various events and activities that promote dialogue, communication, and exchange of ideas.
Four fine art exhibitions, a painting and sculpture exhibition, a live painting symposium, a fashion show, a master class, cultural talks, a discussion session, a Qatari cultural tour, and a cultural dinner night are among the festival’s eight artistic events.
Qatari artists Moudhi Al Hajri, Haifa Al Khuzaie, Duha Al Kuwari, Sarah Al Sayed, Sheikha Al Thani, Lina Al Aali, Sarah Al Dosari and Ghada Al Mahamid will participate in the festival. From 10 am until 10 pm, the festival runs.
US Embassy will participate in a fashion show for the first time represented by international fashion designer Nour Bishara will take place there, on the courtyard located between buildings 16, 18 and 19 in Katara Cultural Village.
