Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announces social distancing measures at mosques in Qatar

Doha: Starting on Saturday, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs will implement the required preventative measures in all mosques across the nation.

• The gap between worshipers during daily and Friday prayers will be the size of a prayer mat (half a meter).
· Maintain a one-meter separation between worshippers throughout the Friday sermon.
• Only approved mosques are allowed to open their toilets and ablution facilities.
• Non-vaccinated persons, especially children under the age of 12, will not be admitted.

Those with cold or high temperatures were also asked not to attend the mosque, according to the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.

The Ministry urged everyone to follow the following preventive actions to safeguard the safety of worshippers and community members:
1. Before entering the mosque, show the Ehteraz application.
2. Please bring your own prayer mat.
3. Wear a mask.
