Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar Clarifies Navigational Controls

Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar announced that personal and tourist marine vehicles will be allowed to sail under some controls and conditions, starting from August 6, 2021.

According to a tweet published by The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar on its Twitter account, these steps are part of lifting the restrictions. The restrictions were imposed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. As the ministry gradually lifting the restrictions, they are also very precautions about the health and safety of all members of the society. 

The ministry indicated that the chartering services of boats, tourist yachts, and pleasure boats could be continued under certain conditions. One of the conditions is that all workers on those boats and yachts have completed doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar also added that the number of passengers in those boats and yachts should not exceed 50% of their capacity and a maximum of 25 people who have completed doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The Ministry indicated that 3 people were allowed to be present within the mentioned percentage of those who did not complete or did not receive doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. 

The Ministry of Transport and Communications also stressed that the owners of the boats and yachts should strictly comply with the aforementioned number, conditions and controls.
