MoI in Qatar reports over 400 violations of Covid-19 preventive measures

Officials in Qatar have increased their attempts to take action against those who violate Covid-19 preventive measures. Today alone 430 violations of Covid-19 preventive measures were reported in Qatar by the Ministry of Interior.

403 people were arrested for not wearing masks in public, and 19 people were arrested for not keeping a safe physical distance from other people in the public. For not installing Ehteraz, the Ministry also against eight people, who were reported to the Public Prosecution.

To date, the ministry has reported hundreds of persons to the Public Prosecution for violating the Covid-19 preventive measures in the country.

“In line with the cabinet decision based on Law No. 17 of 1990 regarding infectious diseases, the competent authorities referred several people to the Prosecution for violating COVID19 preventive and precautionary measures in force,” Ministry said in a statement.

“The competent authorities call on the public to adhere to the precautionary and preventive decisions in force to protect them and others from the spread of the Coronavirus in society,” the statement added

As the Covid-19 pandemic spreads, the MoI and health officials have been urging the public to take preventive steps such as wearing masks, avoiding close contact with others, and limiting the number of persons riding in cars.
