MoI refers over 400 people to the public prosecution
There have been 452 documented violations of Covid-19 preventive measures in Qatar, according to authorities at the Ministry of Interior (MoI). Sunday night, August 22nd, the Ministry made this announcement to the public.
A total of 393 people were arrested for not wearing a mask in public, and 55 people were arrested for not keeping a safe physical distance from others in public.
For failing to install the Ehteraz application, the Ministry also referred four people. They were referred to the Public Prosecution for violating the law by the government officials. Thousand of persons have been reported to the Public Prosecution for breaking the Covid-19 preventive measures in the country.
the competent authorities reported many people to the prosecution for breaking COVID19 preventative and precautionary measures in force, in accordance with the cabinet decision based on Law No. 17 of 1990 governing infectious diseases, according to the ministry.
Authorities urge the public to follow precautionary and preventive measures in place to safeguard themselves and others from the spread of Coronavirus in society, according to a statement.
As the Covid-19 pandemic spreads, the MoI and health authorities have been warning the public to take cautious steps such as wearing masks, avoiding close contact, and limiting the number of persons riding in vehicles.
