MoI reports 2047 Covid 19 preventive measure violations in Qatar

There have been 2,047 violations of Covid-19 preventive measures in Qatar, according to authorities at the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

This announcement was made on Saturday, Sept 4. 1289 individuals were arrested for not wearing masks in public, while 736 people were arrested for not keeping a safe physical distance from others. 22 people were also referred by the Ministry for not installing the Ehteraz software.

Public Prosecution was notified for violations. Thousand of persons have been sent to the Public Prosecution for breaching the Covid-19 preventive measures.

“In line with the cabinet decision based on Law No. 17 of 1990 regarding infectious diseases, the competent authorities referred several people to the Prosecution for violating COVID19 preventive and precautionary measures in force,” Ministry said in a statement.

“The competent authorities call on the public to adhere to the precautionary and preventive decisions in force to protect them and others from the spread of the Coronavirus in society,” the statement added.

As the Covid-19 pandemic spreads, the MoI and health officials have been urging the public to take preventive steps like wearing masks, avoiding close contact with others, and limiting the number of persons riding in cars.
