Yesterday, in an event organised by the MoI in collaboration with the Public Relations Department of the MoI, the Ministry announced that the Metrash2 app is undergoing changes. The Ministry said that people can now submit requests for changing names or other information through Metrash2.
The information was shared during the awareness webinar on ‘E-Services of the Ministry of Interior’. MoI also revealed the list of most used services this year. The list included residency renewal, visa extension, traffic fine payment, vehicle registration renewal, vehicle ownership transfer and add/update national address among others.
Around 400 people from HR, finance, safety, security, the public and private companies, schools, and the heads and representatives of ex-pat communities attended the event.
First Lieutenant Ali Al Edrous said that the E-Wallet is sufficient in case if any forgets the ID, driver’s license or other documents in the department of MoI. “Work is underway to implement this facility for other government agencies.” He also said that people can now report complaints regarding cybercrimes through the Metrash2 app. The concerned authorities will take immediate action on the complaint.

Qatari ID card, residence permit, driving license, vehicle registration, and ownership of the fancy/significant number comprises the E-Wallet. It also has the share feature which is available in applications like email and Whatsapp.
The Metrash2 application has witnessed rapid growth in the last year. The number of transactions provided to the public doubled from 3.15 million in 2019 to more than 6 million in 2020.
