NBA adopts 5-day quarantine measure for those emerging from COVID-19

The NBA introduces changes to the COVID-19 protocol, reducing the quarantine days to 5 for people who have the disease and recover, The Athletic reported.

This guide was published by the United States Board of Health and has been adopted by the professional leagues in this country.

The new rule applies to those athletes who are outside the team environment, which are all those who acquire the virus.

To be accepted back to club practices, players have to be isolated for 6 days and have been screened. They also have to present 2 negative tests for the virus.

With 5 days, those infected can take commercial flights to return to their team’s city and wait to be cleared.
