NFL teams will hold a moment of silence in honor of John Madden

The death of John Madden, one of the legendary figures in the NFL, is a major event. That is why a moment of silence will be observed at the Week 17 games to remember his legacy.
“We ask each team that is local in Week 17 to take a moment of silence in memory of John Madden just before the game begins,” says a statement from Roger Goodell sent to each organization.

Madden rose to fame as a league coach when he managed the Raiders’ coaching staff for 10 seasons. He was a 7-time AFC monarch and won the 1976 Super Bowl.
