Minister Bekir Pakdemirli, talks about the ongoing forest fires in Turkey

Bekir Pakdemirli, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey, stated that the firefighting teams have succeeded in controlling 209 fires that broke out in 47 states since last July 28.

The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey tweeted bout this in his official Twitter account. He explained the progress that the firefighting teams against the fire that broke during the past 10 days.

Bekir Pakdemirli also stated that the firefighting team succeeded in controlling 13 fires in 5 states. The latest rescue has increased the total number of fires controlled to 209 in 47 states across the country.

The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan announced the areas that became the victims of the fire fires as ” Disaster Areas”. The Forest fires affected several states in southern and southwestern Turkey. Antalya, Adana, Mugla, Mersin and Osmaniye were the worst-affected states in Turkey.

The death toll from those fires reached 8 deaths and dozens of injuries, which also led to the evacuation of tens of thousands of people, including tourists, and the fires threatened a power station for a short period.
