A tragic domestic accident left famous French fashion designer Olivier Rousteing unrecognizable.

A year later, the young creative director of the fashion house Balmain shared the news on Instagram with a picture of himself with facial injuries and wrapped in bandages.

“Exactly one year ago, the chimney of my house explodedβ€œHe wrote on the social network.

He woke up the next day at the Saint Louis Hospital in Paris (France) and says that since then he has been recovering from his injuries.

Rousteing explained that her insecurities and fashion’s “obsession with perfection” had prevented her from revealing everything that had happened earlier.

“To be honest, I’m not quite sure why I was so embarrassed“, wrote. While recovering, she had hidden her injuries with long sleeves and jewelry during interviews.

“Now, a year later, (I am) recovered, happy and healthy,” he added. He thanked the medical staff who had treated him despite “dealing with an incredible number of covid cases at the same time,” and spoke about how lucky he feels now.

“After the storm, the sun always comes out.”

He has opened boutiques in London and New York, the company’s first outside of Paris.
