Ooredoo and QCS extend their collaboration

To help the Qatar Cancer Society’s numerous projects throughout the year, Ooredoo has announced it has renewed its strategic cooperation relationship with them through 2021.

The Qatar Cancer Society was established in 1997 with the goal of preventing cancer through education and promotion of a healthy, active lifestyle, as well as support, empowerment, and advocacy for cancer patients and survivors. The organisation also engages in professional development and scientific development research. With the following objectives in mind, the Society organises several events and programmes throughout the year. The ‘Blossom’ campaign to promote awareness of breast cancer, one of the most frequent cancers among women in Qatar and throughout the world, will be the next effort.

For the duration of the month-long campaign, which is aimed at all segments of Qatari society, it intends to emphasise the need for periodic examination for early diagnosis, disseminate the culture of a healthy lifestyle to avoid the illness, and showcase the health facilities available in Qatar. It will also highlight society’s responsibility in giving cancer patients psychological and financial assistance and in enhancing the experiences of people with cancer.

โ€œWeโ€™re delighted to be renewing our strategic partnership with Qatar Cancer Society for a further year, and to yet again be their Strategic Partner. Weโ€™re committed to supporting organisations that improve health for all as part of our corporate social responsibility strategy, and we welcome opportunities such as these to demonstrate this commitment. We look forward to another year of invaluable initiatives with QCS.โ€ said Sabah Rabiah Al Kuwari, Director PR at Ooredoo.

โ€œI thank Ooredoo for their continuous support to QCS and the support of yet another initiative. We have a longstanding history and partnership with Ooredoo, and the company is always the first to support Society, whether in treating cancer patients or supporting our awareness programmes. Such partnerships are vital in the fight against cancer, and we must all join together to raise awareness of the disease and support cancer patients and their families.โ€ said Mona Ashknani, General Manager at Qatar Cancer Society.
