Over 600 people referred to the prosecution for violating Covid 19 precautionary measures

Doha: On Sunday, the designated authorities sent 684 persons to the prosecution for violating Covid-19 preventative measures (January 9, 2022).

431 persons were reported for not wearing masks, 220 for failing to maintain a safe physical distance, and 33 for failing to download the Ehteraz app.

The regulations are in keeping with the Cabinet’s decision on Covid-19 limitations, which mandates that all citizens and residents wear masks in closed public spaces.

All public areas, whether closed or open, require the use of a mask. The only exceptions to this rule are persons participating in open-air sports and exercises.

“In line with the cabinet decision based on Law No. 17 of 1990 regarding infectious diseases, the competent authorities referred several people to the Prosecution for violating COVID19 preventive and precautionary measures in force,” the Ministry said in a statement.

“The authorities urge the public to adhere to the precautionary and preventive decisions in force to protect them and others from the spread of the Coronavirus in society,” the statement continued.
