Over 6000 kgs of frozen meat and fish seized by Doha Municipality during an inspection

Doha: A total of 6,012 kg of frozen meat and fish unfit for human consumption was seized by the Health Control Section of the Doha Municipality during an inspection.

Investigating the source of the meat and identifying the supplier, the municipal police raided 14 warehouses and refrigerators belonging to the company. There, they found another 5,872 kg of frozen rotten meat and fish. The company used transportation means not designated for transporting these materials.

The authorities issued violations against them for violating Law No. 8 of 1990 regulating the control of human food. The seized materials were destroyed by the authorities.

Recently, inspections of a restaurant in the Old Airport area led to the discovery of 140 kilograms of rotten meat unfit for human consumption on Thursday evening.
