Prime Minister attended the launch of the 4th Global Security Forum

Doha: HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior attended the launch of the 4th Global Security Forum (GSF). The conference is held at the Sheraton Hotel in Doha and is scheduled for three days.

With the theme of “Cooperation or Competition? Changing Dynamics of Global Security”, the forum stresses the importance of balancing cooperation with competition, In ensuring security and addressing critical challenges in governance and development.

Participants at the forum’s launch included Their Excellencies, members of the diplomatic and judicial corps, experts and academics, as well as policymakers and guests.

In cooperation with the Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Soufan Group, Nordic Safe Cities, New America, Qatar International Academy for Security Studies (QIASS), Defense One, and the UN Security Council’s Counter-terrorism Committee, the forum is organised by Soufan Center. 

HBKU is a leader in researching the security challenges that impact behavioural, economic, and social aspects, said Ahmed bin Mojahed Omar Hasnah, the President of HBKU. He also noted that Education is the key to bringing up people who can address global challenges.

“The relationship between universities, governments, the private sector, as well as the community is key in being able to deal with future global security challenges. I think universities need to leave their comfort zones and become more involved with their communities and governments, working together, and feeding their research outcomes into those entities, as well as learning from the practices and challenges being faced on the ground,” he added.
