Qatar Airways named as the official sponsor of the 49th Amir Cup final

Doha: Qatar Airways has been named as the official sponsor of the 49th Amir Cup final. The match takes place at Al Thumama Stadium and will also be the inaugural match of the stadium. Al Sadd faces Al Rayyan in the highly anticipated final of the 49th Amir Cup.

The clash between Qatar’s two of the biggest football clubs is also a celebration for Qatari football as the match takes place at full capacity of Al Thumama stadium. Fans are all set to welcome back football. The match will follow the guidelines established by the Ministry of Public Health to curb the spread of covid 19 in the country.

“The Amir Cup final will give us more than one reason to celebrate by uniting fans and acknowledging how close we are towards hosting the first-ever FIFA World Cup in the Middle East. The Al Thumama Stadium is an architectural masterpiece and will serve as the perfect venue for us to mark the occasion in the presence of a thrilling atmosphere. We are excited to play a role in this celebration of football and leave our mark by uniting people of all ages and backgrounds together.” said HE Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive.

A fan-id has been implemented by the authorities for the match. This will allow the fans to enter the stadium and will also give free access to the Doha Metro on match day.  The Al Thumama Stadium is the sixth venue for the FIFA World Cup 2022. The stadium will host 8 eight FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches and 6 of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021
