Qatar Beach Volleyball duo aims for bronze after the defeat in the semi

The Qatar Beach Volleyball duo, Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan now aim for the bronze medal in the sport as they suffered a straight defeat against the Russian Olympic committee. Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Oleg Stoyanovskiy dominated the field throughout the game.

From the very beginning of the game, the match was pretty intense. Both teams strike hard and maintained the tightness throughout the first half. Cherif and Ahmed worked out a two-point lead of their own while recovering from a three-point deficit. At the same time, the Russian Olympic Committee’s duo managed to grab a narrow edge over the Qatari duo.

The second set was also pretty intense, as the pressure started to build among the players. But things got twisted when the Russian team took over the control of the game after 11-11. They succeed in increasing the pressure by increasing the gap between the points. The situation remained the same until a monster block by Stoyanovskiy closed it off at 2-0 (21-19, 21-17).

Latvia’s Martins Plavins and Edgars Tocs also suffered the same fate in the other semi-finals match against Norway. Anders Mol and Christian Sorum managed to beat Latvia by 2-0 (21-15, 21-16).

The Qatari duo will have their sight now set on the bronze medal as they will take on Plavins and Tocs in the third-place match tomorrow.

As mentioned earlier, the Qatar Beach Volleyball duo, Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan is now preparing for grabbing the bronze medal of the event. They will compete against Norway’s Plavins and Tocs for third place in the tournament.

So far, the Qatar Beach Volleyball duo and Norway’s team have met three times. In the last match against the Norway team, the Qatari duo managed to win the game in 2019 FIVB Gstaad Major 26-24 21-19. Cherif and Tijan have a lead of 2-1 now. Are you excited about the match?
