Ministry of Public Health reports 260 new cases in Qatar

Today, the Ministry of Public Health announced 169 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) within the community and 91 cases among travellers.

The Ministry also announced the recovery of 146 infected people in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the State of Qatar to 226,158.

The Ministry of Public Health stated the developments of the (Covid-19) virus in the State of Qatar, which includes the following:

New infections and recovery cases:

– The Ministry of Health recorded 169 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) today within the community, and 91 cases among travellers.
– The Ministry also announced the recovery of 146 infected people in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the State of Qatar to 226,158.

Data of the National Program for Vaccination against Covid-19:

– 413,062 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been given to the community since the beginning of the vaccination programme.
– 43,493 doses of “Covid-19” vaccines were administered during the past 24 hours.
– 90.7% of those were eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. 
– 78.7% of the population received at least one dose of the “Covid-19” vaccine.

The current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic:

– The positive results of the COVID-19 restrictions and the increased frequency of vaccination against the virus, coupled with the unparalleled support of the public, have all reduced the daily infection rates of COVID-19 infection in the State of Qatar during the past few weeks.

Despite the drop in daily infection rates, we must take the utmost caution, considering that the second wave of the pandemic is still present, especially with the outbreak of two mutated strains of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country.

The third phase of the gradual lifting of precautionary restrictions began on Friday, 9 July, and is part of a four-stage plan that is scheduled to continue to be implemented over the coming months.

The beginning of the implementation of each phase and the period of its effect depend on the indicators of the pandemic.
