The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a circular containing the requirements for canceling the commercial registration, which will be implemented until December 31.

The ministry said through its official account on “Twitter”: “Dear investor, learn about the requirements for canceling the commercial registration, which will be implemented until December 31, 2021.”

In turn, Qatar Chamber called in a press release for businessmen from owners of companies who have expired companies that have “permanently stopped activity” and still have commercial records, to cancel the commercial records of these companies, noting the requirements for canceling the commercial registration in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which indicates that For 100% Qatari companies, cancellation is made directly through the Ministry without referring to the General Tax Authority.

For Qatari companies that have a foreign partner but do not operate and do not have a commercial license, the cancellation is made through the Ministry directly without referring to the General Tax Authority, and for companies that have a foreign partner and the commercial registration has not been renewed for more than 10 years, the cancellation is made through the Ministry directly without Refer to the General Authority for Taxes.

As for Qatari companies that have a foreign partner and operate and have a commercial license, they must submit tax returns for the last fiscal year, pay all tax obligations, if any, and submit a tax clearance request through the electronic tax portal, noting that the write-off is made in the event of a commercial registry and the absence of A commercial licence, but in the case of an expired commercial registry and an expired commercial licence, the cancellation is done after bringing a sealed statement from the Ministry of Labor that there is no employment. As for the expired commercial register and there is a Gulf partner, the write-off is done through the Ministry.
