Qatar hits another milestone in the vaccination campaign

Doha: A key milestone has been reached in Qatar immunisation programme, with 95% of the eligible population (12 years and older) getting at least one dose of the vaccine.

There have been 4,515,730 doses of COVID-19 vaccination delivered in Qatar so far, according to the Ministry of Public Health. In the previous 24 hours, 11,173 doses of COVID-19 vaccination have been given. This means that 88.1% of the eligible population has now gotten two doses of the vaccine, according to MoPH figures released this week.

“76.4 per cent of the total population have now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 82.5 per cent of the total population have received at least one dose of the vaccine,” the MoPH said.

“If you are eligible for the COVID-1 9 vaccine but have not yet booked your appointment, act now. Get vaccinated to protect yourself and your family, and support the return to normal life as soon as possible,” the MoPH added.

Qatar, on the other hand, reported 130 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including 82 from within the country and 48 from travellers returning home. Also, 219 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 in the previous 24 hours, bringing the overall number of recoveries in the country to 230,668.
