Qatar is ready for FIFA World Cup 2022: Al Thawadi


H E Hassan Al Thawadi, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy said that Qatar is ready for hosting FIFA World Cup 2022.

He was speaking to CNN’s Becky Anderson regarding the works related to the World Cup 2022.

While Qatar is in a quick pace towards FIFA World Cup 2022, which is only 500 days away, Al Thawadi claimed that it has almost completed 95% of World Cup related works.

“I’d like to say we’re, give or take, around 90%. Between 90 and 95% completion. Most transportation infrastructure is completed; the metro system is up and running.”

Qatar had finished and inaugurated four stadiums and the fifth is having its final touch and wll be ready in no time.

There are three other stadiums in the row on their stages of completion.

“By the end of this year or early next year at the latest, all the stadiums will be ready,” Al Thawadi assured.
