Qatar releases 21,000 baby groupers into the sea

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality, through the Fisheries Department, released over 21,000 young grouper fish weighing 52 grams onto the Qatar east coast.

The process of releasing young fish into the sea, running for more than a year, aims to increase fish stocks and increase production from the types of fish that were produced at the Ras Matbakh Aquarium Research Center. 

Over 580,000 baby groupers and 701,000 young stingrays have been released into the sea so far.
