Qatar Tourism issues new regulations on Holiday Home rentals

While ensuring worldwide best practices are implemented, Qatar Tourism is taking efforts to control the operation of vacation homes that are owned by people. Quality standards, amenities, health and safety criteria, accessibility criteria, code of conduct and environmental sustainability are all outlined in the new laws for homeowners who wish to apply for a permit or licence.

Residents who own or rent flats and villas are eligible to apply for the licence. This enables them to experience Qatar’s many offers while enjoying our outstanding hospitality. It’s a similar endeavour to Qatar Tourism’s attempts to create a safe and pleasurable experience for tourists.

“As we prepare for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, we are working towards ensuring a seamless experience for fans, rooted in Qatar’s tradition of hospitality. With a diverse range of hospitality options across hotels, onboard cruise ships, stadiums and luxury campsites, Qatar Tourism is working with stakeholders to provide the best visitor experience across touchpoints. This new service of regulated holiday homes will therefore allow fans with more hospitality choices to choose from while retaining the luxury and service excellence that Qatar is known for.” said His Excellency Mr Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive and Chairman of Qatar Tourism.

There is now an eService site, https://eservices.visitqatar.qa/ that allows owners and renters to apply for a Holiday Homes license online

To ensure that the unit satisfies all legislation and maintenance standards, as well as being correctly advertised with all essential facilities and guest services supplied, it is the responsibility of the owner. Qatar Tourism will undertake frequent inspections to ensure that standards are maintained in the hotel industry in the state of Qatar.

In accordance with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, which creates goods and services to attract tourists in 2022 and beyond. By adapting to changing traveller demographics, this legislation will help support the city’s growing hotel and hotel apartment market.
