QIC named as the ‘Top Investment House’ by The Asset magazine

Doha: The Asset magazine has recognised Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) as the ‘Top Investment House’ for the fourth consecutive year.

The poll rated the top investment banks in Asian G3 bonds (bonds issued by Asian issuers in USD, EUR, and JPY) by the number of votes received, with QIC receiving the most votes from its Astute Investors.

The poll analysed and shortlisted approximately 430 entities including asset managers, hedge funds, private banks, banks, insurance firms, and sovereign wealth funds.

The survey’s ranking methodology was based on the number of votes obtained from these institutions’ top-rated analysts, economists, and strategists, as well as their sales teams and traders. The ranking score was determined using a weighted algorithm and was published in the January 2022 issue of The Asset magazine as well as on TheAsset.com.

Salem Khalaf Al Mannai, CEO at QIC Group, commented on the achievement: “We are honoured to be ranked as the Top Investment House from the Mena region for the fourth consecutive year. The prestigious ranking serves as a testament to the resounding success of our business strategy built along with a customer-centric and technologically progressive approach, ably backed by the investments team.”

“Investments are a cornerstone for the success of our business. Not only does this showcase the goodwill and reputation that QIC has built over the years of its operation, but also brings to the fore our passion and commitment in maintaining our status as a market leader in the insurance and investment management space,” said Al Mannai

Since 1999, the Asian G3 Bond Benchmark Review has provided a plethora of data on institutional investors’ product needs and market penetration of institutions participating in the Asian G3 bond market and Asian CDS arena.

QIC was Qatar’s first domestic insurance firm, having been established in 1964. QIC is now the market leader in Qatar and a major insurer in the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Mena region.

With an A/Stable rating from Standard & Poor’s and an A(Excellent) rating from AM Best, QIC is one of the highest-rated insurers in the Gulf region. QIC is also the largest insurance firm in the Mena area in terms of profitability and market capitalization. It has a market capitalization of about $4 billion and is listed on the Qatar Exchange.
