QMD issues marine warning; expects a slight fall in temperature

Doha: From October 18 onwards there will be a slight fall in temperatures as fresh northwesterly wind is expected, according to the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD).

This will continue until the end of next week gusts exceeding 30 KT and wind speed ranging between 10-20 KT in Qatar. At times, this wind will blow dust and reduce visibility to less than 2 km, while the waves offshore will rise to 12 feet in some areas, QMD noted in a social media post.

As a result of Northwesterly winds, temperatures will decrease slightly, with maximum temperatures ranging between 30-38° C during the day and minimum temperatures ranging from 18-29° C at night, according to the department.  A warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department urging caution and avoiding marine activities.
