Doha: Rashid Al-Hajri becomes the first GCC athlete to finish all six major marathons of the world. On Monday, The Qatari marathon runner completed the 125th edition of the Boston Marathon.
Photos of Rashid Al-Hajri holding the Qatar flag and two medals, a Boston Marathon medal and a Six Star medal were posted on his Instagram. He completed the Boston Marathon at a time of 3:32:29.
He is also the first Six Star Finisher from Qatar. “The first-ever 6-star finisher from Qatar,” Abbott World Marathon Majors shared pictures of Rashid’s in an Instagram story.
“Congratulations! #Qatari Champion Rashid Al-Hajri completed the Boston Marathon, making him the first #GCC athlete to finish all 6 major world marathons: #Tokyo, #London, #Berlin, #Chicago, #NewYork and #Boston,” said Qatar Olympic on Twitter.
20,000 entrants participated in Boston Marathon’s 125th edition on Monday after the race was delayed by 30 months due to the pandemic.
