Rip off on the phone: Now it’s up to scammers

Phone scams are on the rise. The Federal Network Agency is taking decisive action against this: this year, thousands of telephone numbers have already been banned or switched off completely. There are also around 4,000 disbursement bans. The rip-off even occurs via fax machines.

According to reports, the Federal Network Agency is taking stronger action against rip-offs on the phone. In 2021, more than 8,500 telephone numbers are said to have been subject to a “collection ban”. To be added Disbursement bans against around 4,000 numbersthat previously attracted attention with high fees. Another success can be booked that 700 numbers of rip-offs and spammers were completely switched off.
While the Federal Network Agency continues its efforts, more and more complaints about SMS phishing are being received. Unwanted advertisements for corona rapid tests and masks are common.
